Mercedes Marathon

Well today was the Mercedes Marathon and I PRed!!!!! I finished in 4:23:56. It was really nice to get a marathon in before I start full swing into the Ironman training. It has been 11 months since I have done a marathon and I forgot how painful they are. Right now I can not imagine swimming 2.4 and biking 112 and then doing a marathon, but I guess that is what training is for. So it makes me nervous but I'm sure I'll be fine. On top of it all this was my last marathon in my 20's how sad. I have a half marathon in March and then after that I will be racing as a 30 year old. =/
Now it's time to rest up for a day then hoping to get in the pool and do some short runs to get my legs back working and get on my bike this weekend again.
Oh and one more thing. Rusty a friend of mine is an amazing running and runs 3:20 marathons, but this race he was a pacer for the 4:30 group so I can official say I beat Rusty in a Marathon!!!!!

Day of Rest...

Everyone needs a day of rest so I decided I would take today off and relax and get some things done around the house that I have been needing to do. On  top of it THE PACKERS WON THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!! What an amazing game that was! With that said this week is going to be an easy week with the Mercedes Marathon on Sunday. So no riding this weekend for me and just some short runs. Other then that, next week I am going to start to get some pool workouts in as well finally!!!! So until Sunday after my race... later!

Superbowl Sunday!!!!!

Well the time has come to watch the Packers win the Superbowl!!!!! Before I head off to watch the game I was able to get together with a wonderful group a people to do a 55 mile ride on the silver comet. It was a really good ride but a lot of spinning for me since I stayed in my small ring. I felt good and had a blast! I hate to make this short but I have a game to go watch. Don't forget to cheer on the Packers.
GO PACK GO!!!!!!!

Just another Training Week

I was able to get one run in during the week before all the rain started hitting us. Other then that once again I went running after the midnight shift today and got a good 10 mile run in. It is my last long run before Birmingham Marathon next weekend. Even the the training has been slim I do feel ready and I am excited. I would love to beat Jordan's PR so I have the PR in the household. We'll see what happens. Other then that I plan on biking tomorrow. Not sure how long yet I would like to get in 55 miles but I have a superbowl to watch. =)

With Misty's help she found a Century ride we are going to add to our training plan on April 17th. So until then we decided every weekend we will add 5 miles that will lead us to the Century Ride!!!! I am so excited and can't wait to see how I handle my first century!! The furthest I have been on my bike is 70 miles. So keep checking back to see you it is going leading up to my first century as well.

Hope everyone is ready for the superbowl tomorrow and is going to cheer on the PACKERS!!!!
GO PACK GO!!!!!!
